Buying, Selling & Reading the Market

The Corner (street drugs) and the Hospital pharmacy (medical drugs, dual-use for healing or diverting) both run on the same pricing model.

Static prices, shuffled bands

Prices reset every 2 hours and hold perfectly steady in between — no player buying or selling pressure moves them. What changes each reset is which drug is cheap and which is dear: the cheap-to-dear ranking is shuffled fresh every period, so there's no single lane you can farm forever. Whatever looks like the best run right now might not be the best run in two hours.

Prices are local, not global

You only see live, accurate prices for the city you're physically standing in. Other cities show whatever price you last saw there — good intel goes stale the moment you leave. The one exception is the Hacker specialization: a Hacker (or any crew with one) is tapped into the feed and sees live prices in every city simultaneously, the same structural edge a Financier has over laundering.

Why you can't flip in place

The buy and sell sides of the market are spread apart on purpose — buying and immediately reselling in the same city always loses money. The profit lives entirely in carrying goods somewhere they're worth more, which is the whole point of a "run": you're paid for logistics and risk, not for standing still.
