World Events
Roughly every 3 hours, the whole game world has a chance to be hit by a randomly-picked, server-wide event — one of three flavors, each a blunt reshuffle of the board rather than something aimed at any one player or crew.
- Federal Crackdown — raises every player's Heat by a flat amount.
- Market Crash — wipes a flat percentage of every player's and every crew's Dirty Cash (Dirty only — Clean holdings are untouched).
- Gang-War Catalyst — knocks a flat percentage off every crew's district control everywhere, potentially flipping a marginally-held district back to neutral.
Why they exist
World events are a pressure-release valve, the same idea as territory decay and the Heat/RICO ceiling: left alone, territory and cash would only ever accumulate toward whoever's already winning. A periodic, unpredictable reshuffle keeps the board from calcifying into a permanent order. You'll see the most recent ones on the Dashboard's World Events panel — there's no warning before one fires, only the record after.
